American Idol Season 4 grand winner Carrie Underwood just announced that she will be leaving the music scene in order to focus more on family matters that she somehow took for granted due to her very busy schedule. This will come after her Cry Pretty Tour 360 this May 2019. Many are in disbelief while others felt bad about Carrie’s decision given that her career is still flourishing. Carrie however, said that she knows that a lot of her fans will be outraged by this but what is more important now is giving her family more of her time and effort. Asked if she would still be interested in making music in the future, Carrie just said that she will not be shutting her doors completely to the music industry.
It is also no secret that the 35-year old country singer and pop sensation is pregnant with her second child to husband, former Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher. Carrie is very happy about this pregnancy especially that their son Isaiah, who is turning four this year, is already asking for a sibling. Carrie will be giving birth to a baby boy this 2019. Carrie and the rest of the family also moved to their new home in Nashville, which the pop star said is very ideal for her growing family. Carrie and Mike wanted to have a big family that’s why acquiring a much larger estate is a wise decision for them, she said.
Carrie was first seen on TV when she auditioned for the 4th season of the hit singing competition American Idol in 2004. For her audition, she sang Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” which impressed judges Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson. For her first round in the contest, she sang Tiffany’s “Could’ve Been” and because of her excellent rendition of the song, judge Simon Cowell commented that she would be one of the favorites to win the competition. On May 25, 2005, Underwood was announced the 4th winner of American Idol, garnering the highest votes from the judges and getting the greatest number of text votes from the audiences.
After winning American Idol, Underwood proceeded in releasing her very first single “Inside Your Heaven” which became the only country song to debut at number one on the US Billboard 100. Aside from her very first hit song, Carrie is also known for her songs such as “I Told You So”, “Good Girl”, “Cowboy Casanova”, “Just A Dream”, “Blown Away”, “Jesus, Take the Wheel”, Before He Cheats”, among others. She was also considered as one of the most successful American artists in any musical genre, wherein she was able to make 6 successful albums throughout her music career and was able to sold more than 65 million albums worldwide. Carrie is also a recipient of various music awards such as throughout her 15-year career such as the Grammy, MTV Music Awards, Guinness, Billboard Music Awards and a lot more. Too bad that Carrie will be retiring early but many of her fans believe that she will not be gone from the music scene that long.
